Berendina empowers Plantation Youth with Technical and Material Assistance

A set of equipments were recently provided by Berendina to improve youth-run enterprises
in Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division in Nuwara Eliya District. This distribution
ceremony was held on December 15, 2022 at Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat in
Norwood. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Ms. Ruwini Sithara Gamage, Divisional
Secretary of Ambagamuwa DS while officials from Berendina as well as Grama Sevaka
officers, NGO Coordinator, Youth Officers and Development Officers of the Ambagauwa DS
Division were present and graced the ceremony.

Initially, the selected 20 youth were assisted through Business Ideas and Business Plan
Development prior to providing much needed equipments related to their income generation
activities. These youths are engaged in a variety of industries, including cake making,
tailoring, Aari work, automobile, tile layering, welding, bicycle repair, cultivation, painting,
catering and Air air conditioner repairing.
