Berendina Empowers Trincomalee’s Brightest with Student Scholarships

Berendina is proud to have supported exceptional young talents from the families of Micro Credit clients in Trincomalee Region through the prestigious Berendina Bright Students Scholarships (BSS). The awarding ceremony, held on 13 September 2024 at Orr’s Hill Vivekanantha College Auditorium, celebrated these students’ outstanding academic achievements.

Gracing the event were Chief Guest, Mr. Shanmukanayakam, Divisional Director of Education, alongside Special Guests, Mr. Kanesalingam, Principal of R.K.M Sri Koneshwara Hindu College and Mr. Puvaneshwaran, Principal of Orr’s Hill Vivekananda College. BMIC officials and proud parents of scholarship recipients also attended this vibrant ceremony.

This year, 42 outstanding students of BMIC member families of Trincomalee district, who excelled in their G.C.E. (O/L) examinations, were awarded scholarships to support their G.C.E. (A/L) studies. Additionally, 22 students received essential study packs, including exercise books. These scholarships are part of a broader initiative benefiting 709 students across all Berendina’s operational districts in 2024, marking a remarkable expansion from previous years. By investing in education, Berendina continues to nurture the dreams and potential of Sri Lanka’s future leaders.
