Building Brighter Futures: Safe Paths to Education
Ingestre Tamil Vidyalayam, a school with deep historical roots from 1939, has long struggled with poor infrastructure. The main road and footpath used by students were in disrepair, posing daily safety risks, particularly for primary students. Frequent falls and injuries highlighted the urgent need for renovation, emphasizing the critical challenges faced by the school community.
Berendina Development Services aims to enhance educational accessibility and quality for children from underprivileged families, ensuring they become skilled, creative, and responsible citizens. Responding to the urgent request from the School Development Society and the proactive leadership of Principal Mrs. Sulochana, BDS initiated a project to renovate the road. This effort involved collaboration with local stakeholders, including parents and teachers, to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
The renovation of the road and footpath has led to a remarkable transformation. Students now attend school with increased joy and enthusiasm, resulting in higher attendance rates. Parents, who work in the tea plantations, can now rely on their children to get to school safely, allowing them to focus on their work without worry.
The community of Ingestre Tamil Vidyalayam expresses heartfelt gratitude to BDS for this impactful project. We hope to continue empowering more schools and communities, creating safe and nurturing environments for every child’s educational journey.
