Future Leaders: Unlocking Potential through Career Guidance for Grade 10 Students at Dunkeld Tamil Vidyalayam, Dickoya

Berendina believes education is the cornerstone to shape up and inspire future leaders to foster knowledge and skills necessary for the economic growth and sustainable development. Based on this foundation, Berendina collaborated with Zonal Education Office, Hatton to conduct a transformative Career Guidance Program for Grade 10 students at Dunkeld TV in Dickoya, on 6th August,2024.

As a part of addressing ever rising school dropouts in the plantation community particularly among students studying in grades 9-11, this initiative came at a crucial moment. It was the intention of Berendina to help students to understand the importance of education and informed decision making about their career interests. During the session, 17 students participated, gaining valuable insights into selecting their GCE Advance Level streams and relevant subjects, laying a strong foundation for their academic and career paths. Students also had the chance to share their aspirations and learn practical steps to achieve them.

Beyond merely selecting subjects, the program gave students the opportunity to openly discuss the challenges they face in their education and find ways to overcome them. By equipping these young minds with the knowledge and skills they need, it is the aim of Berendina to contribute for resilient communities to facilitate for economic growth.
