Berendina Micro Investments Company (BMIC) continues to make a transformative impact in the field of education through its flagship initiative—the Berendina Bright Student Scholarship (BSS) Program. This program is dedicated to supporting academically gifted students from economically disadvantaged BMIC client families, helping them pursue their educational aspirations.

In 2024, BMIC welcomed 432 new students into the BSS Program, committing to support them for two years until they sit for their G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination. Each student receives a quarterly scholarship of LKR 4,500, easing the financial burden on their families and enabling them to focus on their studies.

Throughout the year, a total of 810 students benefited from the program, with BMIC investing LKR 14 million in their education. This initiative has empowered students with the resources and confidence to excel academically.

In 2023, BMIC approved scholarships for 378 students, also under the two-year support model. Their academic progress has validated the impact of the program, reinforcing the value of this investment.
