Dessford Tamil Maha Vidyalayam Upgraded with Refurbished Furniture for 630 Students
Dessford Tamil Maha Vidyalayam in Nuwara Eliya, with 630 students, faced significant challenges for over three years due to damaged and uncomfortable classroom furniture, negatively impacting the learning environment. Recognizing this pressing need, Berendina Development Services (BDS), in partnership with the School Development Society and the Civil Society organization (Saraswathy Kalamantram) initiated a school furniture renovation project in January 2025. The initiative culminated in the handover of 154 refurbished chairs and 60 tables to the school on March 4, 2025, with the hope of improving the learning environment of the classrooms.
BDS remains dedicated to supporting education and fostering optimal learning conditions for future generations.
The success of this initiative was recognized and highlighted in publications by Virakesari and Thinakkural on March 7th, 2025.
